Hey there, how are you doing?  I am finally getting in some kind of Christmas spirit.  We wont be able to go home for Christmas this year. It is the 1st year we won't be with family.  However, my daughter and family will be down the day after Christmas. Yipppee!!  Here is a photo from a few years ago, of Bella and Allie at my brother's Christmas party.  I think my brother makes a wonderful santa.  Of course this year we have another little one.Maddie is almost 2 years old.
Another reason this year is not as Christmasy is the weather. I am not used to running around in the middle of December with a light jacket. Or with no jacket.

This weekend i went to the Evergreen cemetary and took the tour.  the historical society and the high school drama class read short biographies of several of the people buried there. they dressed up in period costumes.  Awesome, i learned a lot about the Perry area.  Glad i went, even if i did have to go by myself.
It is off to bed for this chick.  goodnight everyone.

Hello.  It has been a while since i have been on my blog. Guess my life isn't very excititng. We went up north to see family for the thanksgiving holiday. we weren't able to get to my daughter's house on the actual holiday. but we were there friday evening. and boy oh boy did we have a wondeful dinner. Turkey, dressing ,mashed potatoes.  And a cranberry dish that Heather made that was yummy.  Maddie liked it so much, she ate all mine.

I had been taking art lessons in Ohio for a few years.  I love graphite and pastels. My wonderful art teacher, Connie, is a whiz at watercolors.  I am sure it was hard for her to teach these other mediums, but she did, and she did a fantastic job.  Here is a picture of a barn that i drew for a friend.
i had the guidance of Connie. Now that we are in Georgia, well the drawing has slowed down. I know that i can do this.  the last few pictures i did myself at home.  I am having a mind block on this barn picture.  maybe soon i will get back to it.  for now i want to finish up the rag quilt i am making for me.  I finally get a quilt for myself!  I will show pictures of it when it is done.  Everybody have a good week.

caps

Hello friends!

This is an absolutely wonderful day here in Georgia. I am able to have my windows open.  Amazing from someone who is from the cold north. I am slowly getting used to being south.

I want to share with you guys some of my "finds".  we were out driving and came to this old antique shop.  If you wanted records , he had them by the hundreds. He told me he did the storage unit auctions. I think that would be cool.  I found this neat cap for a ceiling fan.   This is going up on my wall as a decoration. I dont plan to do anything to it.  For 2 bucks i have wall art!!

These are bottle caps ( or crowns as they were called in the 40's) for home brewed beer.  these could be magnets, or used in jewelry of some kind. I am not sure yet,but they were fun,so i went ahead and bought them.
Have a wonderful day .

having fun

it is a crafty kind of day

Hello this sunny sunday morning. i have been away from the blog for a while. I have no excuse really. I dont work, so i should have time.  I did join curves last week, and have been going there every day .  I have to get back in shape. I know i will feel better when i lose a few pounds.  I wont say how many i need to loose.

A few weeks ago i decorated a wooden initial for my granddaughter, Maddie.  I think it turned out nicely. Now my daughter wants all three girls names done. i have been waiting for hobby lobby or michaels to have the letters on sale.  no luck yet.

I wanted to share with you all ( that would be Judy) my newest purchase.  i found these cards, at a local antique mall. they have cards for a to z ---- and a few for different sounds.  who knows what i will do with them, but i had to get them.  You always regret what you dont buy.  that is my story and i am sticking to it.  Hope you all have a good day.

Good sunny afternoon.  I have been away from the computer for a few weeks. The mr. and i went back up to Ohio to get his motorcycle. Poor guy, he drove it from Ohio to Georgia. and let'say that the weather was not good. he drove a good part of the way in temps in the 30's.  Now the bike is getting some tune up work done. then we hope to be able to ride more.
I spent some extra time back in Ohio with my family. My sisters and mom went to the cincinnati art museum to see the art deco exhibit. they had clothes and jewelry.  What a wonderful period that is, one of my favs.  I even had  time to go and see my art teacher for a kick in the but.  she inspires me to do more than i ever thought i could.  Now my creative juices are flowing!!!!
Got to run now, hopefully the next time i hope to have more pictures.

mossy creek festival

Hello on this wonderful day. I hope you are having a good weekend.  this weekend i went to the Mossy Creek Festival.  It was in a woodsy setting and i thought it was awesome.  There were crafters and artisians alike.  As you can see there were craft demonstrations.  This lady is making a chair seat from corn shucks.  Looked easy. there was also basket weaving, ironwork  and woodwork demonstrations.  It was a good day. I just wish that my sisters could be with me .

it'sthe weekend!

Hello!

Here it is friday evening already.  I hope you guys have lots of fun plans for the weekend.  Here in Georgia, it is time for the Mossy Creek Festival.  Now having just moved to the area, this will be the first time i have gone.  From what i have read, it has arts and craft vendors. and lets hope food vendors as well.  then i need to run up to the antique mall to pick up some gifts.  Ok, and maybe shop for something for me as well. Why not?  But the biggest plan of all is the trip to Ohio. We are going to visit family and friends. i am looking forward to seeing everyone up north.
Have a fab  weekend my friends.

exploring

Good evening.  I have been playing around a bit with my blog. and as you can see, i now have a background. Not my fav, but i can"t seem to change it.  Today my mr. and I were off, so we went exploring. We drove to Columbus, a nice drive. We found the historic district, where we saw some really gorgeous old homes.  I have to say the porches on them were awesome.  By the time we found the old cemetary, it had started to rain.  I was able to get a few pics---- maybe one day i will be able to post them here.  Sweet dreams to all my blogging friends.
